I give this question a lot of thought on a regular basis. What do I want? Money? Fame? A new car? A better house? The answer is yes, and no.
Yes, I would like to have more money and a new car – but that would not satisfy me. I would still want more. What is the “more” that I seek? I seek happiness; pure, true happiness. But what does that mean?
That is where the work is; determining what happiness looks and feels like for me. What will truly make me happy?
The answer seems like a moving target sometimes. However, with patience, passion, and determination, the movement is slowing down and the bull’s-eye is getting clearer.
My answer used to be things, now I know my answer is more about love and acceptance. If I live my life from a place of love and acceptance, all things go my way.
I am happiest when helping others- so that is my focus. How I go about doing that changes all the time, but I know if I keep that in focus, I am always happy. The material things I gain from my efforts are simply the effects – the added bonus!
True happiness comes from within.
